The Spotlight: Ages 13-17 Advanced students refine their craft through challenging material and deeper character exploration. College Audition Prep For juniors and seniors preparing for college theatre and musical theatre auditions. Students will build a polished audition package with contrasting mono logues and/or vocal pieces, learn audition etiquette and prescreen/self-tape skills, refine resumes, and receive individualized feedback to walk into auditions The Art of Reading Shakespeare Shakespeare isn’t meant to be deciphered—it’s meant to be performed. In this hands-on class, students will crack the code of Shakespeare’s language through vocal play, scene work, and exploration of rhythm, im agery, and emotional stakes. We’ll learn how to turn unfamiliar words into dynamic acting choices, mak ing Shakespeare fun, accessible, and full of life. In this class, students will learn how to write radio plays that captivate an audience using dialogue, narration, and sound effects. We’ll focus on creating strong charac ters, clear scenes, and engaging plots that are easy to follow without visuals. Students will also learn how to adapt scenes from classic films into radio format, discovering how to translate visual moments into compelling audio storytelling. Musical Theatre Intensive You’ll be Broadway bound after this weekly intensive covering singing, dancing, and acting. We will focus on different eras and style of musical theater. We’ll cover classics & contemporary hits. Participants will perform numbers at PrairieFest over Father’s Day weekend. Jazz shoes required. Scene Stealers: Ages 8-15 Developing performers build skills in scene work, character creation, and ensemble performance. Audition Workshop Conquer your fears and inhibitions by learning the proper techniques to help you land that dream role. Learn the basics of the audition process in a comfort able environment and gain insight into what directors look for in an audition. We’ll use techniques to help with memorized monologues and cold reads.
