(JE) June 2 - September 29 ● Sundays, 9:00am-1:00pm Downtown, Oswego Puzzle Palooza - Adult Edition Teams of 2-4 individuals will race against each other and see who can put together their puzzle first. Each team will be given 2.5 hours to put together a 500 piece puzzle they get to keep. Bring your own adult beverage and snacks and enjoy evening of puzzling fun! Oswego Brew at the Bridge It’s a shady and beautiful afternoon at Hudson Cross ing Park, perfect for artisan sampling of beer, seltzer, cider, and spirits. Your Starter Pack which includes your age-verified wristband, commemorative Oswego Brew tasting vessel, and, new in 2024, four 4 oz taster tickets. There will also be three Home Brew samples available to guests from 1:00– 4:00pm or until supplies last. Choose your glass! Additional taster tickets are available for $2 at the Park. Kids Go Wild Fort Building The Little Rascals have nothing on these builders! Kids Go Wild will head to Waa Kee Sha to build forts using wood, hammers, nails, blankets, and duct tape. Kids should bring a hammer, safety glasses, and a snack. Halloween House Decorating Whether you like tricks or treats, we want to see your best Halloween House Decorating this fall. Register by 10/21 for your house to be included. Park District staff will visit each home between 6-9pm on 10/23 to evaluate. Decorators will need to submit pictures of the decor that will be posted on Facebook. The two Hallo-winners will be the Most Spooktacular (as evaluated on by staff) and the People’s Choice (voted for via Facebook until noon on 10/28). Winners will be announced on 10/28 and will receive a yard sign and gift card. Maps to all participating homes will be provided online for families to take a drive to see them in person. Santa on the Line Christmas is just around the corner, and Santa has set aside some special time to talk with the children of the Oswegoland area! He wants to hear how your child’s year has been, all of their Christmas wishes, and, most of all, to spread Christmas cheer. If your child would like to hear from Santa, all you have to do is fill out the quick survey that will be emailed to you after registering for this special event. Santa will give you a ring between 6:00-8:00pm on Wednesday, December 17. Registration for this event closes on December 12. Confirmation emails with the survey will be emailed out on December 13. Surveys must be completed no later than December 15, or you will not receive your call. Each child who is going to be speaking with Santa needs to be registered. Saw Wee Kee Fall Showdown Test your skills on the park you know best. Bikers will compete to see who can have the fastest course times. This event is for experienced riders. Bikers will choose a wave time between 9am-1pm. During their one hour slot, bikers will compete once in two different courses. Medals will be awarded to the top male and female fin ishers on each course and by overall time. Race entry includes a long sleeve technical shirt and a bib-timed entry. Spots are limited. All participants registered by September 2 are guaranteed a shirt. Runners are bib-timed and sent in every few minutes. Each race features different courses and different gear! Attend each race and receive a piece to the 2024 medal! Kids Triathlon Kids are filled with the energy to swim, bike, and run to the finish line. Coordinated in partnership with the School District’s Physical Education teachers, 3rd through 8th graders compete in this non-continuously timed event consisting of a 100m swim, a 3 mile bike ride, and a ½ mile run (7/8 graders will run 1 mile). While awards are given to the fastest in each division, the real winners are all the spirited students who bolt from the start and head towards every finish. Everyone receives a t-shirt and finisher medal. Park District ath letic events are non-refundable. Registration deadline is September 19. Gobbler Hobbler 10K & Mashed Potato Mile Since 1985, we’ve celebrated Fall with a scenic 10K run down the Fox River and through beautiful downtown Oswego! The chip-timed course begins and ends at Fox Chase Elementary School. Runners registered by 10/31 are guaranteed a hooded sweatshirt. Native American Storytelling by Chief White Winnebago In this presentation, Chief White Winnebago will introduce participants to the culture and history of the HoChunk nation through five Native American stories. Don’t miss this before our first settlers. Gerald Savage—HoChunk Ska Ga in his native language—is a member of the HoChunk nation. He grew up with his grandparents, who raised him in the tribal ways. Oswego History Tour – Downtown All communities evolve and change with time and Oswego is no different. Join us for a walk down Main Street between Jefferson and Washington. We will point out historic landmarks, talk about the types of stores and businesses that first appeared when the village was newly-formed, discuss the critical role that fires had in shaping our village, and explore the significant changes that have occurred over time with the growth of our village. Join members of the Oswegoland Heritage Association on this relaxing his tory walking tour. The tour will begin and end in front of the Oswego Public Library in downtown Oswego. Bring your walking shoes! Participants will be guided through the cemetery to visit with “ghosts” of early Oswego residents and pioneers. Pre-registration is required. Registration the day of the event is $10, space permitting. Please arrive at the beginning of your timeslot! Participants should be able to walk for 45 minutes, wear comfortable shoes, and are encour aged to bring a flashlight. An adult must accompany all children. Registration is per person.
