HISTORY Stuffy and Me Tea Does your little one have a special stuffed friend at home? Bring them to the museum for our very special tea party! Guests and their stuffed animals will get to sample some tea (or juice), munch on finger foods, and make adorable crafts to take home. Price is per child. But where do you start if you want to learn? On June 8, come to the Little White School Museum to learn the basics to hand quilting from the masters themselves; Oswego’s own Quilters Dozen! These lovely local ladies will work with you to create your own project for you to take home. All sup plies will be provided. Oswego History Tour – Historic Homes on Main When you drive down Main Street from Madison to Rt. 34, ever wonder about the histories behind the distinctive houses you pass? Join us for a walk down Main Street with stories about the early Oswegoans who built and lived in these homes. Wear good walk ing shoes and be prepared to be part of the conversa tion. The tour will begin and end at the corner of Main Street and Tyler Street and last for about an hour. In fact, during the late 1800s, Kendall County was becoming quite diverse! Hop aboard as we take you on an informative and eye-opening bus tour of locations associated with local African American his tory. Presented by the Oswegoland Heritage Associa tion in partnership with the Oswegoland Park District, this adventure will last about an hour. Oswego History Tour – Church Cemeteries Have you ever noticed all the cemeteries around town and wondered what church they’re affiliated with? Join members of the Oswegoland Heritage Association and the Oswegoland Park District on a bus tour of some of our local church cemeteries. The tour will begin and end at the Little White School Museum and last for about an hour. Pre-registration is required as there is limited space. (AJ) All Ages ● Little White School Museum 27756 Aug 17 Sat 12:00-1:00pm $7(R)/$10(N) Oswego Heritage Association History Happy Hour @ Christina’s No matter the decade, there was always something fun to do in Oswego! Even if it wasn’t always “legal”. On August 8, come to Christina’s Grill and Gatherings to hear about some of the underground activity that took place in Oswego over the years. From illegal boxing rings to prohibition shenanigans, there was never a dull week in this small town! Admission comes with one beverage ticket to enjoy during the lecture.
