Kids Triathlon Kids are filled with the energy to swim, bike, and run to the finish line. Coordinated in partnership with the School District’s Physical Education teachers, 3rd through 8th graders compete in this non-continuously timed event consisting of a 100m swim, a 3 mile bike ride, and a ½ mile run (7/8 graders will run 1 mile). While awards are given to the fastest in each division, the real winners are all the spirited students who bolt from the start and head towards every finish. Everyone receives a t-shirt and finisher medal. Park District ath letic events are non-refundable. Registration deadline is September 14. (ZD) Sunday, September 25 ● 9:00am September 5-14: $30 Team (Grades 3-6) Through September 4: $75 September 5-14: $90 Gobbler Hobler 10K&Mashed PotatoMile Since 1985, celebrate Fall with a scenic 10K run down the Fox River and through beautiful downtown Oswego! The chip-timed course begins and ends at Fox Chase Elementary School. Volunteers provide two water stations on the course. Runners registered by 10/31 are guaranteed a hooded sweatshirt. SawWeeKee Trail Run Series The soft path, with its twists and turns, ups and downs, makes for a great all natural run whether the weather makes it a muddy mess, or a fragrant wild flower filled dash. Runners are bib-timed and sent in every few minutes. Each race features different courses and different gear! Robotics &SumoBot Camp Learn about robotics by designing and programming robots to compete in a SumoBot competition. Kids will learn the physics and concepts of robots through building and programming... controlling motors, reading sensors... that lead to a competition at the end of the camp. An understanding of the engineering pro cess combined with fun competition will provide stu dents a great way to get started in robotics. Students will learn how to problem solve, work in teams and deal with failure, all skills needed in the real world. AStepAboveDanceCo. Auditions Audition for A Step Above Dance Company! Our com petitive Dance Company is an environment that allows dancers to study various disciplines of dance, build confidence and teamwork in a friendly atmosphere. Company will compete in at least 3 local competitions. Dedicated dancers ages 8 and up with at least two con secutive years of dance experience are encouraged to audition. Space is limited and registration is required. Company begins in July with a technique “boot camp” and production choreography week in early August. Groups will practice weekly late August-June on Friday or Sunday evenings. Dancers should bring their jazz shoes and water. They should wear a black leotard, skin tone tights, and hair should be out of the face in a bun or braid. New members may have the opportunity for callbacks and may be asked to come in on Tuesday, June 11 to audition with the returning members.
