YOUTH LEAGUES
MVPBaseball This is a transition league for players to continue to improve their baseball fundamentals. The program will focus on enhancing players’ hitting, field, throw ing, and base running skills. Sportsmanship and teamwork philosophies will also be incorporated. Hitting progression will occur from tee use to a coach pitch format. (AF) Age: 5 - 6
ParkDistrict TeamSportsPhilosophy We believe that every resident of the District should have an opportunity to take part in activities offered regardless of skill or ability. We believe that the indi vidual participant is more important than winning. Therefore, we offer programs that encourage individu als to achieve at their own level of interest and ability. TeamPlacement Info Teams are created according to the following criteria, when a player is registered by the registration end date: Our goal is to keep teams balanced based on grade/ age and gender (when applicable) while accommodat ing preferred practice days. We hope this equals the skill level and abilities in each division and maximizes player benefits within the program. Waitlist Registration A $20 Waitlist Processing Fee will be added to your registration should your child be accommodated off the waitlist. Buddy/Carpool Request ■ Only one request per player. ■ The player you request, must also request you in order for it to be considered. ■ Preferred practice days must match. ■ Requests must be submitted to the Park District by the registration deadline. Volunteer Coach Incentive Program The Park District counts on volunteers to coach our youth sport programs. Seasoned coach or brand new to the game, we’d love to have you volunteer. The Park District provides training and support throughout the season. All coaches are required to pass a background screen ing. The basic coach credit will begin at $25. Coaches can earn additional credits by attending the pre season coach meeting, and other educational oppor tunities offered by the Park District. Credit amounts are subject to change and coach obligations must be met in order to receive the credit. Parents can indicate their interest in coaching during registration. 1. T-Ball / Baseball Leagues ● Teams practice two of the three program days for the first two weeks (June 5-16) ● Beginning week three, teams will play games two of the three program days (June 19-July 18) ● Practices & games will be at Old Post or Wormley Heritage Park ● Practices & games last approximately one hour beginning at 6:00 or 7:15pm ● No games July 3-5 ● Fee includes t-shirt & hat ● Players must bring their own glove. All other equipment is provided. Players may bring their own if desired. ● Register by Tuesday, April 18 for $80(R)/$95(N) ● Registration accepted until Tuesday, May 2 for $100(R)/$115(N) ● Registration from waitlist $120(R)/$135(N) ● Refund requests must be made by Wednesday, May 31 GoldenGlove T-Ball Players will be introduced to the fundamentals and basic rules of baseball. All players will hit from a tee to develop proper hitting mechanics. Throwing, field ing, base running, and sportsmanship will also be a primary league focus. (AF) Age: 4 - 5
